1986 brought you:

Something I was less than thrilled with. I Wikipedia'd music in 1986. I didn't recognize a whole lot. So I picked the only song I did recognize, off the top ten.

Sorry.

That must have been a bad year for music if that was all you could find.

#5 of the top 100 songs in 1986: You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!

That's a MUCH better song!

I didn't see that on Wikipedia's list.

I always put too much faith in Wikipedia, and I know it's not always accurate.

You can't go wrong with Bon Jovi. Was that Madonna? Yuck.

When your sister finds out you even use Wik*pedia, well, let's say it won't be pretty.

She already knows I use Wikipedia.

...Why would she care?

Mom, do you know what Wikipedia is?

Mom--
You can use Wikipedia to gather general information, but not as a reliable, credible source for a paper.

I don't think I'd ever use Wikipedia for a paper.

It's just not reliable enough.

However, for random imformation, or pop culture information, it's pretty good.

i use it for random information but i understand that it isn't always reliable.

Anytime I have used it for something I actually care about, I check the sources.

If something isn't cited, I don't use it.

I love it for a general reference. I'm only irritated by it because I spend a lot of time explaining to students how unreliable it is.

And your original post just confirms it since you missed out on a Bon Jovi song. This should've been easy for you people born in the 80's -- there's some great stuff out there.
